5. Helios

A desert city located around the area of present day Sacramento. Their main purpose is in mining, with their main resources being in marble and granite that the capital uses. Due to the changes in climate, the city suffers from harsh droughts and famines regularly. The work that the people do here is arduous and doesn't give much in terms of reward. Because of this, the life expectancy of the common citizen here is only in the mid-thirties. Most either die in a work related accident or they waste away trying to provide for their children before themselves.

Despite the hardships that are commonly faced in Helios, the people here are very friendly and charming. Some say that it's a tactic to gain trust from outsiders to better swindle them, though. Among the locals is a very strong sense of comradery even among strangers. There's a belief here that laying one's life down for another member of the community will bless the deceased one's family with good fortune.

The main trade found here is in the jewels that individuals find while working in the mines, which they are allowed to keep to have polished and sold. People will travel from even outside of Silver for a chance to purchase precious gems not found anywhere else.

It's common for the people from Helios to be shorter in stature, but very strong and resilient. They have better eyesight in low light compared to anyone else in Silver.
